Rainier Valley Radio/KVRU is a listener-sponsored public radio station, with programming for, by and about our community.
Our mission is to inform, educate and entertain through locally created and community-supported programming. KVRU’s programming priorities are based on our mission and vision, reflecting principles of public interest and cultural diversity.
KVRU will be located on the dial at 105.7FM and will go live in mid 2017. KVRU will begin streaming programs on the internet in June 2016. Our FM signal coverage will include all of the Rainier Valley, some areas to the north of I-90 and some eastside communities (see map).
KVRU’s internet studio is located at 3642 33rd Ave. S. Suite C-5, Seattle 98144 – in the Dakota building in the Rainier Court community, in the Genesee/Mt. Baker neighborhood.
KVRU is a program of SEEDArts. In 2013, SEED agreed to apply for an FCC license so that Rainier Valley could have a low power FM station. SEED is the official licensee of Rainier Valley Radio/KVRU and is a partner with the Radio Leadership Council in station governance and operations.
