We are resilient! We are hearing brilliant stories about people helping people, especially those most in need, during this crisis. KVRU wants to hear your voices and share them with the community. So we’re launching a new series — South Seattle Spark Stories — to highlight and celebrate our resilience during this pandemic. We invite you to submit short audio recordings to share your positive experiences with us. These segments will be broadcast throughout the pandemic to uplift our community. Here’s how you can participate:
STEP #1: Make a recording
- Record a .wav or mp3 file on a voice recorder, computer, or phone.
- Your segment can be up to 3 minutes. 1 minute is typically about 130 words. We recommend writing it before recording it.
- State your first name and any identities that are important to you, followed by your story. At the end, please add “I am resilient, because…” or “my community is resilient, because…”
- For example, “My name is Lulu and I am a local teacher. I was inspired by a student and her mother who made masks for friends and family. My community is resilient, because we help each other out.”
- If you don’t have access to the devices mentioned above, you can call and leave your message at (425) 224-6511.
STEP #2: Send the recording to KVRU
- Email your file to psa@kvru.org as an attachment or transfer it via WeTransfer, Google Drive, OneDrive, or DropBox.
- You may also include pictures to be featured on social media.
- While we can’t guarantee to broadcast every submission, we’ll air as many as possible. All stories will be archived.
