Host Bios:
Dr. Georgia S McDade, a Louisiana native who has lived in Seattle more than half her life, loves reading and writing. She earned her PhD from the University of Washington and spent more than 30 years teaching at Tacoma Community College, Seattle Community College, Seattle University, the University of Washington, Lakeside School, Renton Technical College, and Zion Preparatory Academy. She is a charter member of the African-American Writers Alliance and is the author of five books of poetry and she has edited several books and anthologies.
Jim Cantú worked for decades as a local government administrator and in the tech industry. As he moved toward retirement, he returned to his first love of broadcast media, co-producing a morning news program on KBCS-FM. He joined KVRU at its beginning and records many community events.
